H U M A N I X
Version 2.1
Effective 10 October 2026
Humanix Ltd, registered in Cyprus, HE 496907
Version reference: tos-2.1-2026-10-10
These terms replace the Humanix Terms of Service dated 1 September 2026, Version 2.0, in full, from the date above. They correct what we say we record while you write, and nothing else. They are published thirty days before they take effect because section 19 says we will do that.
Humanix is run by Humanix Ltd, a company registered in the Republic of Cyprus with registration number HE 496907, whose registered office is at Omonoias, 52, Troodos Court, 1st floor, Flat/Office 3, 3052, Limassol, Cyprus. In these terms, "Humanix", "we" and "us" mean that company. "You" means the person using the platform.
You can reach us at legal@humanix.me.
Humanix is a platform where the questions come from us and the answers come from you. We ask you questions, you answer them, and we buy the answers. We then license the material we have bought to organisations that build artificial intelligence systems. Contributors on the platform are called AI Teachers.
These terms are the agreement between you and us. They cover your use of humanix.me, everything on it, and the contributions you make through it.
You accept these terms when you register, by ticking the box confirming that you accept them. You accept them again each time you submit a contribution, because the assignment in section 11 takes effect contribution by contribution and the version in force at the time is the version that applies to it.
From the effective date of this version we record which version of these terms you accepted and when, for every contribution. For contributions made before that date we hold the date of your registration and the version in force then.
If you do not accept these terms, do not use the platform.
Two other documents form part of this agreement, and you should read them:
Where these terms and either of those documents disagree, these terms govern the commercial relationship and the relevant policy governs the handling of your data.
Two things we publish on the platform form part of this agreement and bind us: the acceptance criteria under section 6, and the amount of any bonus under section 9. Nothing else is incorporated by reference. There is no separate token agreement, and no separate marketplace agreement. If you accepted an earlier version of our terms that referred to either, those references have gone and nothing in them binds you now.
"Contribution" means anything you submit through the platform in answer to a question we ask, including free text, ratings, labels, corrections, questions you propose, and the profile information you choose to give us.
"Accepted" means we have taken a contribution into our data holdings after it has passed our quality and authenticity checks. Section 6 explains what those checks are.
"Amount owed" means a sum of money we owe you for an accepted contribution, a bonus or a referral commission, fixed under section 8 and payable under section 10.
"Licence" means an agreement under which we allow another organisation to use data we hold. We license data. We do not sell it, and we do not transfer ownership of it to anyone.
"Platform" means humanix.me and any application or service we operate under the Humanix name.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the platform. If we find that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it.
You must give us accurate information when you register, and keep it up to date. You must not create more than one account, and you must not let anyone else use yours. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Where you sign in with a password, we require a second factor as well. Where you sign in through another provider, that provider's own security applies. Either way, keep your credentials secure and tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to your account.
Before we make the first payment to you, we will ask you to verify your identity. This is a condition of being paid, not a condition of being owed. Nothing you have earned depends on it, and the amounts stand recorded whether or not you have completed the check.
We ask you questions. Some are about a subject you know well. Some are follow-up questions that go deeper into an answer you have already given. Some ask about you, so that we understand whose knowledge we are recording. You can also propose questions of your own.
You decide when to use the platform and how much to contribute. You are under no obligation to answer any question, to be available at any time, or to reach any level of activity. Declining a question, leaving a session, or not using the platform for any length of time carries no consequence of any kind.
You are free to contribute to any other platform, including one that competes with us, at any time. This agreement is not exclusive.
We do not supervise, direct or control how you work, and we have no right to. We do not set your hours. We do not manage your performance. Where we record how long something took, we use it to check that a contribution was made by a person and to price the contribution, and we do not use it to supervise you, to score your productivity, or as grounds for any action against your account.
You are not our employee, and this agreement does not make you one. You are not our worker, our agent or our partner. You are responsible for your own tax and for any registration your own country requires of you. This describes how the relationship works rather than altering your rights. If the law of your own country gives you a status a contract cannot displace, this section does not take it away.
Every contribution goes through two checks before we accept it.
The quality check looks at whether the contribution answers the question, whether it is coherent, and whether it holds enough substance to be worth anything to us. The authenticity check looks at whether a person wrote it, rather than a machine, and whether it is your own work rather than copied.
A contribution that passes both checks is accepted. A contribution that fails either check is not accepted, and no amount is fixed for it. There is no partial acceptance and no partial amount. You keep whatever rights you have in a contribution we do not accept, we do not license it and we do not use it in a dataset. We hold it for the period set out in our Privacy Policy so that we can review the decision if you ask us to, and then we delete it.
We publish the criteria these checks apply, and we will tell you the category of reason if we do not accept something. You can ask us for that reason at any time within three months of the decision, and we aim to answer within fourteen days.
If we do not accept a contribution and you think we should have, you can ask a person to look at it again. Section 7 explains how.
Our checks are automated. A system scores each contribution and the score decides both whether we accept it and what we record as owed. No person reviews a contribution before that decision is taken. We do this because it is necessary to perform this agreement: it is the mechanism by which we decide what to buy from you and at what price, and there is no way to run the platform at the volume it needs without it.
The main things the score responds to are: the subject of the question and how much material we already hold on it; the depth and specificity of your answer; the expertise you have evidenced; the quality band the contribution reaches; and the interaction signals recorded while you were writing, which our Privacy Policy describes at section 3.2. These do not carry equal weight. The subject and the depth of your answer carry most.
Two answers to the same question, of the same length, in a subject where we hold little material, will be valued differently if one gives specific detail from direct experience and the other restates general knowledge. The first will be worth more. Where we receive no interaction signals at all, a contribution is scored in a lower band by default, which usually means less money and sometimes means no acceptance.
You can ask us to look at any of these decisions again, and you can put your own point of view. Write to review@humanix.me. We aim to answer within fourteen days. Where the law of your country gives you a right to have a person review a decision of this kind, you have that right and we will give it to you; ask and we will say how. Where we change a decision, we correct the record and the amount.
Everything else about the platform is automated by design, and we say so plainly rather than implying a person is reading over the machine's shoulder. Where the law requires a person to take a particular decision, a person takes it.
Our Privacy Policy sets out the rest of what the law requires us to tell you about automated decision-making, including the rights you have under Article 22 of the General Data Protection Regulation.
When we accept a contribution, we assess what it is worth to us and record the resulting amount as owed to you. That happens at the moment of acceptance.
The amount is fixed at that point and does not change afterwards. It is the price at which we buy the contribution from you, on a one-off basis.
What happens to the material after that is our risk and our business, and it makes no difference to you. We may license it many times over and keep everything we earn. We may license it for less than we paid you. We may never license it at all, in which case we have made a loss and you still have your money. You have no share in any licensing agreement we sign, and no licensing agreement is divided among contributors.
What we learn from licensing feeds forward only. It teaches us what data is worth and which questions are worth asking, so it changes what we pay for future contributions. It never changes an amount already recorded.
You will see the amount for each accepted contribution in your account, and a running total of what we owe you. That total is a statement of what we owe. It is not money we hold for you, it does not earn interest, it cannot be transferred to anyone else, and it cannot be spent on anything.
Nothing in this section limits any right you have under the law to claim further payment where the amount agreed turns out to be disproportionately low against what we later earn from your work. Section 8.1 explains the route we operate, and that route is in addition to your legal rights, not a replacement for them.
We will record which of your contributions are in which dataset and what each dataset earns, and we will attribute licensing revenue to individual contributions on that basis. That is how we see when something we bought has earned us far more than the amount we recorded for it.
Once a year we will review the contributions that have earned us most against the amounts we recorded for them. Where an amount is disproportionately low against what the contribution has earned, we will record a further amount owed to you without you having to ask.
You can also raise it yourself. Write to review@humanix.me, telling us which contributions you mean. We will give you the information we hold on what those contributions have earned, and we aim to answer within thirty days.
You keep every right you have under Article 41 of the Cyprus Copyright Law, under Article 20 of Directive (EU) 2019/790, and under any equivalent provision of the law of your own country. This clause sits alongside those rights. It does not limit them, and it is not your only remedy.
We sometimes pay a fixed amount for something other than a contribution: completing your profile, evidencing a credential, and other activity we set out on the platform at the time. We publish the amount before you do the thing that earns it.
A bonus is recorded and paid on exactly the same basis as a contribution. The amount is fixed when you earn it, and it is paid under section 10 with everything else. Being a fixed published figure does not make it payable any sooner.
If you introduce someone to the platform, we will pay you one per cent of what they earn for one year from the day they join. That money comes from us. It is not taken out of anything they earn, and it costs them nothing. It accrues and is paid on the same basis as everything else.
We pay out of licensing revenue. When we have revenue from licensing, we run a payment cycle and clear amounts we owe.
Two things have to happen before there is any revenue, and we would rather you knew both of them before you start than found out later.
First, we cannot license a subject until we hold enough material in it. A handful of answers is not something anybody will license, however good they are. We only offer a subject to customers once we hold enough contributions in it, from enough different contributors that no one person can be picked out of the data. Until a subject reaches that point it earns nothing, and neither do we. Your account shows how far the subjects you contribute to have got.
Second, a customer has to sign. We may hold material that meets the threshold and still not license it, in which case we have made a loss and you are still owed what we recorded.
We review at least once every three months whether we have revenue available, and we publish the result of that review on the platform so you can see where things stand.
We cannot give you a date for any particular payment, and we do not promise one. The amount is fixed. It is a debt we owe you. It does not expire, and it survives you closing your account or us closing it. When we pay, we come to you. You do not have to ask.
There is no minimum. There is no facility to request payment, and none is needed.
We pay in US dollars, through a payment provider, to an account you nominate. You are responsible for any tax you owe on what we pay you.
If we hold an amount owed to you and we have had no contact from you for three years, we will try to reach you at the address we hold, and we will deal with the amount as the law on unclaimed property requires. We will not simply keep it. You can also ask us at any time to stop trying to reach you and to treat what we owe you as unclaimed, and we will.
This section applies only to contributions we accept. If we do not accept a contribution, nothing in it applies to that contribution.
When we accept a contribution and record the amount owed to you, you assign to us all the intellectual property rights in that contribution, throughout the world, for the full term of those rights. The assignment takes effect at the moment of acceptance and applies to that contribution only. It is not an advance assignment of everything you might ever write.
Where the law of your country does not allow you to assign a right to us, you instead grant us an exclusive licence of that right, on the same terms, for the same period.
Whether or not any intellectual property right exists in a contribution, you agree that we may use it, copy it, adapt it, combine it with other material, train systems on it, license it to others and allow them to do the same things.
You keep the right to say the same things again in your own words elsewhere. We are buying the specific contribution, not your knowledge.
We may license the material we hold to others. Any licence we grant is non-exclusive unless we agree otherwise with the customer, and we may grant as many licences over the same material as we choose.
The database we build from contributions is ours, including any database right in it. Nothing in this section gives you a right in the database or in any other contributor's material.
Contributions go into datasets without your name attached, and they stay that way. You agree to that.
We will change the form of what you write: reformatting it, combining it with other material, breaking it into fragments and using it to train systems. You agree to those changes. We will not present a changed version of your work as though it were your unaltered work.
Where the law of your country gives you moral rights, you waive them so far as that law allows. Where it does not allow a waiver, you agree not to assert them against us or against anyone we license to, in respect of the two things set out above.
Each time you submit a contribution you confirm that:
If a contribution turns out to break one of these promises, we may remove it from our datasets and stop licensing it. We will only reverse the amount recorded for it where the promise was broken dishonestly, and then only for that contribution. Where it was broken innocently, the amount stands. We will tell you which contribution we mean and why, and section 7 gives you the review route.
Do not use a machine to write answers or to operate your account. Do not create more than one account. Do not sell, share or transfer your account. Do not submit the same material repeatedly. Do not submit material designed to manipulate our scoring rather than to answer the question. Do not scrape the platform, interfere with it, or try to get access to any part of it you are not entitled to. Do not use the platform for anything unlawful.
Reading the criteria we publish, and writing better answers because of them, is the point. It is not a breach of this section.
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, who we share it with and what rights you have. Read it before you register.
We record signals about how you interact with the platform, such as typing rhythm, pasting and time spent away from the page, and we use them both to check that the answer was written here and as an input to what we record as owed to you. And our scoring is automated, as section 7 explains.
Some questions tell you something about what we are working on, or about a customer's area of interest. Do not repeat that outside the platform.
This does not stop you talking about your own experience of using Humanix, including what you have been paid.
We will provide the platform with reasonable skill and care. We will keep the record of what we owe you accurate, and we will correct it if it is wrong.
We do not promise that the platform will always be available, that it will be free of faults, or that we will keep asking questions in any particular subject. We may change how the platform works, and we may stop offering it. If we stop, section 18 explains what happens to money we owe you.
Apart from the promises in this section, and anything the law requires of us regardless, we give no warranties about the platform.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Nothing in them takes away rights you have as a consumer.
Our liability to you for anything else is limited to the greater of five hundred US dollars and the total amount we have recorded as owed to you in the twelve months before the claim.
That limit does not apply to any of the following, and each of them is uncapped and stands in full: our obligation to pay you what we owe you; any further amount we record as owed under section 8.1; and any claim you bring under Article 41 of the Cyprus Copyright Law, under Article 20 of Directive (EU) 2019/790, or under any equivalent provision of the law of your own country, as section 8 preserves.
We are not liable for loss of profit or for any loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when you accepted these terms.
You can close your account at any time, by telling us at support@humanix.me.
We may suspend or close an account where we have reasonable grounds to believe that it has been used fraudulently, that the person using it is under 18, that it is being operated by a machine, or that it has been used to break the law or these terms in a serious way. We will tell you the reason and you can use the route in section 7. Where the law of your country requires a person rather than a system to take a decision of this kind, a person takes it.
Whoever closes the account, and whatever the reason, everything we already owe you remains owed and will be paid under section 10. Closing an account does not cancel a debt.
The one exception is dishonesty, as section 12 sets out. Where we can show that a particular contribution was procured dishonestly, we may reverse the amount recorded for that contribution. We will identify the contribution, we will explain the evidence, and the reversal applies to that contribution alone and not to anything else you have earned. Section 7 gives you the review route.
If we stop operating the platform, amounts we owe remain owed and we will pay them under section 10.
We may change these terms for one of these reasons, and no other:
We will tell you at least thirty days before a change takes effect, and we will tell you what has changed and why. If you do not want to accept the change, close your account before it takes effect. Everything we owe you at that point is still owed and will be paid under section 10.
A change never affects an amount already recorded, and it never applies to a contribution we accepted before it took effect.
This agreement ends when your account is closed, by either of us.
The following survive the end of it: our ownership of contributions we accepted while it was running, our obligation to pay what we owe, and sections 3, 7, 8, 8.1, 10, 11, 11.1, 15, 17, 18, 22, 23, 24 and this section.
You confirm that you are not named on any applicable sanctions list, and that you are not resident in a country subject to comprehensive sanctions that would make this agreement unlawful. If that changes, tell us. We may suspend an account where we are legally required to.
If something has gone wrong, write to us at support@humanix.me. We aim to resolve it within thirty days.
If we cannot resolve it and you are a consumer, you can take it to an alternative dispute resolution body. In Cyprus that is the Consumer Protection Service of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry. If you live elsewhere in the European Union, your local European Consumer Centre will tell you which body covers a dispute with a Cyprus trader. None of this takes away your right to go to court.
Notices to you go to the email address on your account. Notices to us go to legal@humanix.me.
We may transfer our rights and obligations under this agreement to another company, for example if our business is sold. If we do, we will tell you, and your rights are not affected. You may not transfer yours.
Nothing in this agreement makes either of us the other's partner or agent.
If a court decides that any part of this agreement cannot stand, the rest of it continues to apply.
If we do not enforce something straight away, that does not mean we have given it up.
This agreement, together with the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy and the two published items named in section 2, is the whole agreement between us about the platform.
Neither of us is liable for a failure to perform caused by something genuinely outside our control. This does not excuse a failure to pay.
This agreement is governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus.
If you are a consumer, that choice does not take away the protection given to you by the law of the country where you live, and you can bring proceedings in the courts of that country. We will bring any proceedings against a consumer in the courts of the country where they live.
Whether or not you are a consumer, the choice of Cyprus law does not displace any provision of the law of the country where you live that gives an author a right to further payment and that applies whatever law the contract chooses. Section 8.1 preserves those rights and this section does not cut them back.
For anyone who is not a consumer, the courts of Cyprus have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
